What About The Women?

The question on my mind for several years now. The Mali proverb: “If you help a man, you have helped one person. If you help a woman, you help a whole family.” How to put flesh and bones and an answer on that question . . .

And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a riverside, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshiped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized, and her household . . .

There Have I, Though Vile As He . . .

Listening to Selah's version of There Is A Fountain. I think I'll just post the words. I can't think of anything more profound to say tonight.

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.
Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away;
And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.
And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;
Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

What Country Are You?

Okay, so sometimes these stupid little quizes are fun.

You're Mexico!

While some people think you're poor and maybe a little corrupt, you know where it's at, enjoying good food and nice beaches. You like to take things a little slower than those around you, and you really wish the air were cleaner, but sometimes compromises must be made. For some reason, Chevrolet keeps trying to sell you Novas as well, even though they don't really go.

Now That I Have One, What Do I Do With It?

For years I've resisted the impulse to hop on the weblog bandwagon. Why did I do it this time? Good question. I know I've felt somewhat scatterbrained lately. So maybe I think I'll be able to keep track of myself. Why on the web instead of a more traditional journal? Because computers are my life. So, there you have it. Maybe tomorrow I'll have something profound or witty to say.

Not Ready For Prime Time

Do I have anything to say to the world? Probably not.
