The dilemma

Since I now work nights, do I stay on the extra hour when the clock rolls back, or do I clock out when I've actually worked eight hours no matter what the clock now says? Forgot to ask the boss, so I guess that means I have to make a decision.

Following Jesus

Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.
David Jeremiah

I've always been amazed by the people I sometimes run into on the internet who claim to be Christians but will neither believe nor follow Christ, who like a limp-wristed wuss who bears no resemblance to the vivid, passionate Jesus of the scriptures, who like his advice but refuse to obey his commands. I want to ask them, "How do you think you're going to end up the same place as him if you're going a different direction?"

Sore Arms

Immunizations aren't nearly as terrifying these days as they were when I was a kid. It was even kind of fun. I got four yesterday (three more tomorrow). There were two nurses who gave them, one on each side. 1-2-3 one of them would say, and then I would feel the simultaneous pinch in each arm. 1-2-3 again, and again the simultaneous pinch on each side. Talk about teamwork!

Yummy in the Tummy

Nothing like a bowl of homemade turkey soup made from a turkey that's been cooked on the grill. A little taste of summer and winter in one bowl. Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!!

Quote of the Day

The world will never be as dark as it was before Jesus came and walked this earth.
Larry Skrant, Changed Lives Ministries

Okay, call me sick or whatever else you want to, but I LIKE to listen to good preaching. I've been priviledged to sit under the sound of some of the best for the last nearly eight years. Tonight's sermon was an excellent reminder, though, that Jesus has not left this world without His light. That light resides in each of us who love Him and obey His commands, and it's meant to shine out into a dark world.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
