In Memorium
I never knew Mary before the Alzheimers had set in. To her each meeting with me was brand new. Every time we met she would tell me how lovely I was. Maybe we should all look at our meetings with others as brand new - wipe the slate clean, cancel the bill. Or as Paul put it:
Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
certain prophets and teachers; as Floyd, and Tom, and Larry, and Mark which had been Pastor for 15 years. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Mark for the work whereunto I have called him. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on him, they sent him away.
They say you should put your own name in John 3:16 to make it personal. I've just discovered that it's even better to be able to put my church's name in the book of Acts because what has just happened in my church is exactly what happened in the Scriptures. It's with a sense of anticipation that I look forward to the next chapter.
Rise up O men of God, Have done with lesser things. Give heart and soul and mind and strength, To serve the King of Kings, To serve the King of Kings.
Rise up O men of God, His Kingdom tarries long, Bring in the day of brotherhood, And end the night of wrong, And end the night of wrong.
Rise up O men of God, The Church for you doth wait. Send forth to serve the needs of men In Christ our strength is great, In Christ our strength is great.
Lift high the Cross of Christ, Tread where His feet have trod, As brothers of the Son of Man, Rise up O men of God, Rise up O men of God.
Rise up O men of God, Have done with lesser things. Give heart and soul and mind and strength, To serve the King of Kings, To serve the King of Kings.
When our Supreme Court decided to totally dismiss the Constitution and say that it's okay for one private party to take another private party's property under emminent domain, I made a vow that
I would never again vote for a Republican or a Democrat until one of the parties returned us to Constitutional principles. I wrote everyone in government that I could find an email address for and
told them of my displeasure and my vow. (Obviously, people sat up and listened, NOT! LOL)
There's one potential bright spot on the horizon. I believe Ron Paul has the principled stand on the
Constitution that would tempt me to break my vow. Check him out if you're ready for a breath of fresh air.
